In celebration of National Constitution and Citizenship Day, our middle school will be commemorating the special occasion with a series of engaging and informative lessons the week of September 16th -20th. Each educational institution that receives federal funds for a fiscal year is required to hold an educational program about the U.S. Constitution for its students. These lessons, which will take place in social studies classes, empower our students with a deeper understanding of the foundational principles and values that shape our nation's democracy. Through interactive discussions, lessons in historical context, and thought-provoking activities, we aim to foster a sense of civic responsibility and appreciation for the U.S. Constitution in our students. It is a fantastic opportunity for our young scholars to connect with American history, democracy, and the enduring importance of this remarkable document. Students will use a variety of source materials from ICivics, the National Archives, and the National Endowment for the Humanities as they learn more about the Constitution and what it means to be an American Citizen.
